Its been 6 years since Mum has passed.

It has been 6 years since Mum has passed away.

That time has gone by fast is the common phrase I use in my memories of this wonderful Woman, Mother and Grandmother. The Grandchildren ask about ( GG) and Nana tells all the stories she can remember before the spirit  of their youth  takes over and they change the subject and go off to play.

Mum has two  sisters still living and they are battling the effects of advanced age and all its precautions that go with it. When we visit them it’s like were looking at Mum as well because they remind us so much of her. Nana looks like her mom and one sister burst into tears when she sees her.

When the Family gathers, we easily discuss the memories of Mum and for a short time all kinds of stories come out and they run from early child hood to the present day and we discover new information each time. Is it new or have we forgotten since the last time we met.?  I feel we have forgotten.

I know I have, when asked about certain questions about events I draw a blank, it shows, first words are” you remember that, you were there”. Well, maybe I was, but seriously it does not seem to register. Luckily, others chip in and they fill in the blanks, saved again.

Each one of us handles the anniversary of Mum’s Angel Day in a different way and when we discuss this in a group, I look around and watch the expressions on the faces. Some are happy; others sad and a few are in space. The ones in space have been doing this complication for a long time which at any given moment, that person will go into a “trance”.

The looking through the old photographs and obits seems to be a past time as well, but only to the people endowed with the sixth sense would understand, it’s not everybody. (Our ability to perceive the unseen world of angels, apparitions, Heaven, auras, etc. is what is known as our sixth sense) and not everyone believes, so it’s a thing you keep to yourself, all Moms are clairvoyant.

We all do it and it’s a process of living your life and it’s a good way to confirm we are ok and the sorrow of her passing is healing and pleasant thoughts are hopefully more frequent as well. We go the cemetery and pay our respects and leave flowers and have a small conversation with the loved ones and express our love and how they are missed,” indeed; that time has gone by fast”.

The Cabin Fever Rant n Rave.

The Cabin Fever Rant n Rave.
Dear Joe:

Today, I am getting some cabin fever. Not that the winter has been too long, it’s just I not getting into it this year. As you know my wife and I are raising our ten year old grandson and he is getting smarter by the day as I seem to be going in the opposite direction. The wife is not having this problem. Why is that?

Gravity is the answer. I am on the slippery slope and seem to be picking up speed. That is scary. Yes, I have turned a milestone year in my life according to the experts in the Family. I was always blessed with a lot of smart people in my life aka “know-it-alls”. So, you know you are automatically stupid as soon as they are in our house.

I usually call it our Home, but they quickly reduce this to a house and I want them out-ta my house. Furthermore as much as I try to love them, I don’t like them. Know, whom I am speaking about? The, pain-in-da-butts, but that is not nearly an accurate description.

Shit, they have an opinion about everything including my recent operation to “parts unknown” and they know all about it. How in the hell did you find all this out? I have not said a word other than it was a “mannish problem”. Well, if they got paid for all this knowledge and shared that with me, I would be well off and a free man.

Next, I don’t want all the advice, I rather learn on the run. And, assuming they never had, what I had, I don’t want to know what the worst case scenario might look like. That is scary enough knowing they know, what I don’t know, you know?

What’s, worst, they think I am the salt of the earth and they love me and profess this to me constantly. Wtf, am I doing wrong? I treat them nicely because I don’t to embarrass the Family and this makes me a saint. “They”, say Karma pay-back is a bitch. Seems, I need to examine my soul and find out where on the road I fell off.

Well, its ten o’clock somewhere, I need to have some red wine, which I keep hid behind the computer monitor, camouflaged  and I drink this from a 500 mL chili sauce jar ; will that will throw them off? Aka, why is poppa so happy?

So, what the hell was I talking about? Another sip of the golden nectar will surely make me recall. You have noticed that I have successfully rambled on about nothing and you have learned that growing older gracefully can’t happen to everyone.  Everybody is nutsy and you tell them that and they laugh. I, guess they know already.

Sorry, I better close off before this becomes well-worn. I have just aged to the 70 year plateau, which means goose egg to me, but everyone else is celebrating. I always thought they were nuts and this proves my case. Well, thanks for enduring this and you should be on your second 500 ml jar half-full of wine by now.

Thanks for fixing the snow blower, be sure to drop in soon and we can have some distilled mosquito bite to ward off the cold.

Yours humble-bull-lee,

 Bruce

My Birthday is whenever you say it is.!

It is I, outstanding in the field.

Hi Ken:

Age after all is a number. Is it an important number? To some it is and others so what.
My glass is half full but I keep the bottle close,so it remains that way.

I have lived more than I have left.
Everyday from now on is my Birthday (aka "thank you Lord for watching over me,thru the night,so I can,...........  :)

I have so much to be thankfull for and I appreciate it.
I am like Santa Claus, he admits some people piss him off and He tells them.

Thank you for your wonderful photo's, I am an arm chair traveller, bucket list still work in progress.
Every night I salute everyone and have a shot of fire water.

When people ask how old I am, I reply, two steps behind my Grand-sons, aka young as you feel.
When the Grand-sons ask,I reply,I had seen the last dino go over that hill.

I know when to stop,my glass is almost empty.
Thank you,for being my Friend !!.

For those about to age, it's time well spent getting there.
The Caveman will never go outta style, esp when the hydro goes off.

Best wishes to you and your Family of Friends,
Zbigniew Nuckowski
